Decryptly · Cryptogram Game

Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 23, 2026  ·  Last updated: June 23, 2026

Short version: Decryptly is a single-player puzzle game with no account and no sign-in. Your game progress is saved only on your own device. We don't collect your name, email, or contacts, and we never sell your data. If you play the free version, third-party ads (Google AdMob) may use a mobile advertising identifier. If you buy "Remove Ads," that purchase is handled by the app store and RevenueCat — we never see your card details.

1. Who We Are

Decryptly is a product of bigSIMPLE Development, operated as a sole proprietorship. Our contact email is bigsimpledevelopment@protonmail.com. When this policy says "we," "us," or "our," it means bigSIMPLE Development.

Decryptly is a cryptogram puzzle game: each puzzle is a quote where letters are mapped to numbers, and you solve it by identifying the letters. The app is fully self-contained — there is no user account, no login, and no bigSIMPLE server that the app talks to.

2. What Data We Collect

We do not collect any personal information ourselves. Decryptly has no account system and operates without a backend server of our own. Specifically:

  • No account data — we never ask for your name, email address, phone number, or password.
  • No contacts, photos, location, microphone, or camera — the app does not request or access any of these.
  • No analytics SDKs from us — we do not embed our own tracking or analytics into the app.

The only data the app stores is your game progress — which puzzle group and level you're on, your difficulty setting, and whether you've completed levels. This is saved locally on your device (in the app's local storage) and is never transmitted to us. Deleting the app removes it.

Two third-party services we include — Google AdMob and RevenueCat — may collect limited data on their own behalf to serve ads and process purchases. This is described in Sections 3 and 4.

3. Advertising (Free Version)

The free version of Decryptly shows ads provided by Google AdMob. We show occasional interstitial ads between puzzles and optional rewarded ads you can choose to watch to earn an extra heart. To serve these ads, AdMob may collect and process:

  • A mobile advertising identifier (Apple's IDFA or Google's Advertising ID), where available and permitted
  • Device and connection information such as device type, operating system version, IP address, and general (coarse) region
  • Ad interaction data such as which ads were shown and whether they were tapped

AdMob uses this to deliver and measure ads and to limit how often you see the same ad. On iOS, personalized advertising that uses the IDFA requires your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt — if you decline, you will still see ads, but non-personalized ones. You can reset or limit your advertising identifier at any time in your device settings.

How Google handles this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and described further at How AdMob and Google use data. Buying "Remove Ads" turns off all ads and stops this ad-related data collection.

4. Purchases — "Remove Ads"

Decryptly offers a single one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase, Remove Ads, which permanently disables advertising in the app. Purchases are handled entirely by:

  • The Apple App Store or Google Play Store — they process the actual payment. We never receive or store your credit card number, billing address, or payment credentials.
  • RevenueCat — a purchase-management service that validates your purchase with the store and remembers your "ad-free" entitlement so you can restore it on a new device. To do this, RevenueCat processes a store-provided purchase/receipt identifier and an app-generated anonymous user ID. It is not linked to your real-world identity.

We use these only to verify that you bought Remove Ads and to restore that purchase when you tap "Restore Purchases." See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy, Apple's Privacy Policy, and Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Third-Party Services

Decryptly relies on the following third parties, each acting as an independent data controller for the data they collect:

  • Google AdMob — serves ads in the free version (see Section 3)
  • RevenueCat — manages and restores the Remove Ads purchase (see Section 4)
  • Apple App Store / Google Play — distribute the app and process payments

We do not embed social-login providers, Facebook SDKs, or our own analytics or advertising trackers beyond the AdMob service described above.

6. Mobile App Permissions

Decryptly requests only the minimum needed to function:

  • Internet access — required to load ads and validate purchases. (Gameplay itself works offline.)
  • App Tracking Transparency (iOS only) — an optional prompt that lets you allow or decline use of your advertising identifier for personalized ads. Declining does not affect gameplay.

The app does not request location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, or storage permissions. You can review and change app permissions at any time in your device settings.

7. Data Retention

  • Game progress: stored on your device until you clear the app's data or uninstall the app. We hold no copy.
  • Ad-related data: retained by Google according to its own policies; see Google's data retention page.
  • Purchase records: retained by Apple/Google and RevenueCat as needed to maintain your entitlement and meet legal and tax obligations.

8. Children's Privacy

Decryptly is a general-audience word game and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Because the free version serves ads through AdMob, ad content is configured for a general audience. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has been served inappropriate content, contact us and we will address it. For a fully ad-free experience, use the Remove Ads purchase.

9. Your Choices and Rights

  • Remove all ads — buy the one-time Remove Ads purchase to disable advertising and the related data collection.
  • Limit ad tracking — reset or turn off your advertising identifier, and decline the iOS tracking prompt, in your device settings.
  • Clear your data — uninstalling the app or clearing its storage erases your local game progress completely.
  • Exercise legal rights — if you are in a region with privacy laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, you may have rights to access or delete data held about you. Because we hold no personal data ourselves, such requests for ad and purchase data should be directed to Google, RevenueCat, or your app store; we will help where we can.

To reach us about privacy, email bigsimpledevelopment@protonmail.com with "Decryptly Privacy Request" in the subject. We will respond within 30 days.

10. Security

Because Decryptly stores game progress only on your device and operates without a bigSIMPLE account or server, there is no central database of user information to breach. All ad and purchase traffic between the app and Google, Apple, and RevenueCat is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. If you believe you've found a security issue, please disclose it responsibly to bigsimpledevelopment@protonmail.com.

11. International Users

Decryptly is operated from the United States. The third-party services it uses (Google, Apple, RevenueCat) may process data in the United States and other countries. By using the app you understand that ad and purchase data may be processed in these locations under those providers' own safeguards.

12. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy here and update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
